ELIZABETH, NJ - Fourteen new recruits to the Elizabeth Police Department were welcomed by Mayor J. Christian Bollwage, Police Director Earl Graves, Councilman-At-Large Manny Grova Jr, Councilman Kevin Kiniery and Freeholder Sergio Granados.

During the ceremony held at Frank J. Cicarell Academy Mayor Bollwage thanked the recruits for the role they will play in executing the City’s plan for increased community services to ensure public safety for all residents.

“I am confident that our newly hired police officers will be instrumental as we continue to build meaningful relationships and ensure public safety. I wish all of the new recruits much success in the Academy,” said Mayor Bollwage.

The new recruits will attend the John H. Stamler Police Academy in Scotch Plains. The City chose multiple bilingual recruits that can communicate with Elizabeth’s diverse community. 

“These new recruits are joining our workforce at a critical time in the history of our country and I look forward to seeing each of you at your graduation in a few months,” said Police Director Graves. 

The new recruits are: Jaime S. Ferreira, Jahid Reed Fullman, Devin J. Fuentes, Rodrigo Andres Gualdron, Brielle Gallagher, Pedro Enrique Diaz, Nuno D. Costa, Cristina Alicia Percorella, Evelyn Irene Gisondi, John Adolfo Paez Bernate, Veronica Elizabeth Mayorga Buenaventura, Jay Ocampo, Celia Maribel Xicara and Harold Buitrago.
