NEW JERSEY/NEW YORK - Notice to all drivers using the Goethals Bridge this week as closures are expected on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Port Authority of NY and NJ has announced they are instituting an all Electronic or Cashless Tolling “Tolls by Mail" at the Goethals Bridge in the third quarter of 2019. To prepare for the new tolling system, the Port Authority said they will fully close the eastbound (NY-bound) Goethals Bridge on July 23 and July 24 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

Eastbound travelers will be directed to use alternate routes during the closures. According to Port Authority Officials, there will be variable message signage (VMS) posted to advise motorists of the upcoming closures and to use alternate routes.

The westbound (NJ-bound) lanes of the bridge will remain open during these closures.
