FAIR LAWN, NJ - Several borough children ranging in age from 10- to 19-years-old were charged in a cyber-bullying incident that outraged many members of the community who made their displeasure known on social media.
The Fair Lawn Board of Education told police on September 9 it had received a video of a 14-year-old developmentally disabled male from Fair Lawn who had his pants and underwear pulled down while in Berdan Grove Park, police said. A 10-year-old boy exposed the victim while a 13-year-old male held the victim in place. While this was occurring, police said, Alis Fidrya, 19, and a 16-year-old female videoed the incident on a cell phone and posted it to Snapchat and TikTok for others to see.
Fidrya will be charged with 2 counts of invasion of privacy, cyber-harassment and harassment, police said. The 16-year-old female will be charged as a juvenile with invasion of privacy, cyber-harassment and harassment. The 13-year-old male and the 10-year-old male will both be charged as juveniles with harassment.
Chief Glen Cauwels stated all defendants, are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
