FAIR LAWN, NJ - The Zoning Board of Adjustment set three special hearings for the QuickChek application: June 14, June 18 and June 28.
The meetings were announced at the May 21 zoning board meeting when a new Zoning Board of Adjustment member, Jenny Flom, was sworn-in.
The QuickChek application, as it has become known, is for a Core Mark property which will be leased to QuickChek, a convenience store with five gas pumps at 16-00 River Road, currently a closed TD Bank that abuts the Board of Education bus depot on Bergen Avenue.
A gas station is not a specifically permitted use in the zone and requires a variance, which has produced several months of contentious hearings thus far. Neighbors are concerned about the increased traffic, deliveries and light and noise pollution in close proximity to their homes. Others say it would fill an ugly hole on River Road.
