Fair Lawn Bicyclist, Struck by Driver, Released from Hospital

FAIR LAWN - The 15-year-old male bicyclist struck yesterday by a 78-year-old male driving a car was treated and released from the hospital, according to Police.

Both individuals reside in Fair Lawn.

The young male, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered abrasions and head pain from the crash and was transported to Valley Hospital by the Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

The operator received traffic summons for failure to yield the right-of-way and careless driving.

At 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, the driver, operating a 1998 Nissan Maxima east on Berdan Avenue and making a right turn onto River Road, struck the teen male on the bicycle as he was traveling west on Berdan Avenue.
