FAIR LAWN, NJ - Borough Councilman and attorney Joshua H. Reinitz has been chosen to receive the prestigious New Jersey State Bar Association’s 2019 Municipal Court Practice Award.

Reinitz, an attorney with Iacullo Martino, LLC for twelve years, was selected from a pool of nominees submitted by members of the State Bar. Members of the Municipal Court Practice Section then vote to select an award winner from among the nominees. Attorneys and retired judges are eligible to receive the award.

1. Public service in advancing the development of municipal court practice in New Jersey in the preceding year or cumulatively as lifetime achievements in the field. 

2. Dedication to the positive development of municipal court practice by publishing, teaching, and serving on municipal court practice committees. 

3. Commitment to significant and sustained pro bono representation or pro bono service in order to positively affect the administration of justice in municipal courts 

4. Leadership in municipal court practice activities on a state, county and local bar association level. 

Reinitz recently completed a two-year term as Chair of the Municipal Court Practice Section. He also served on three Supreme Court Committees tasked with addressing issues in the municipal courts, including the Supreme Court’s Working Group on Municipal Courts which focused on identifying recommendations for necessary reforms to New Jersey’s Municipal Courts.

Reinitz is a sought after lecturer for legal continuing education and was part of the first ever class of 21 attorneys statewide to be Certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Municipal Court Trial Attorney. He was selected as a 2016 recipient of the New Jersey Law Journal’s New Leaders of the Bar Award recognizing the top attorneys in New Jersey under 40 years old.

For the last six years he was eligible, Reinitz was recognized as a “Rising Star” by New Jersey Super Lawyers. He is also currently serving as a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Legislation. He was a Fellow in the inaugural New Jersey State Bar Association Leadership Academy. He also sits as a member of the Office of Attorney Ethics Fee Arbitration Committee for District V-C.
