FAIR LAWN, NJ -- A longtime tradition at Fair Lawn Public Schools is the Extended School Year (ESY) at Westmoreland School. The ESY celebrated with Community Helper’s Week with a visit from the Fair Lawn Fire Department, Fair Lawn Police Department and Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Inc.

Nine classes and more than 70 students on July 30 met with community helpers, learned about their responsibilities and sat inside each department’s vehicles – a fire truck, an ambulance and police cars.

Community Helper’s Week is a highlight of the ESY program.
