FAIR LAWN - Just days before its Aug. 4 grand opening, the Maple Avenue Dunkin' Donuts was the scene of a heroin drug bust.
On Tuesday, Aug. 1 at 9:53 p.m., Police Officer Geovanny Buitron arrested three people from Newton sitting in a car in the parking lot of the new 24-hour Dunkin' Donuts location after evidence of drug use was discovered, according to a Fair Lawn Police report.
A search of the vehicle turned up 247 "wax folds" of suspected heroin.
The suspects were charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin, intent to disribute within 500 feet of a public park, two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of hypodermic needles and possession of drug paraphernalia.
They were transported to Bergen County Jail.
