07/31/2018 9:37 pm Wanted Person: P.O. Juan Hinojosa initiated a motor vehicle stop on Broadway at West Amsterdam Avenue and arrested the operator, Carlos Ramos, age 57 of Passaic, after arrest warrants were located out of Passaic ($5,000) & Clifton ($1,023). He was handed over to Passaic Police.

08/04/2018 3:02 am Driving While Intoxicated: P.O. Geovanny Buitron initiated a motor vehicle stop on Route 208 North at Promenade Boulevard and arrested the operator, Lauren Scarber, age 30 of Hawthorne, after she failed a roadside sobriety test. She was released to a responsible adult after being charged with driving while intoxicated.

08/04/2018 7:28 pm Narcotics: P.O. Juan Rodriguez approached a suspicious bicyclist on River Road at Bergen Avenue and arrested Timothy Rogow, age 27 of Fair Lawn, after he handed over heroin & crack cocaine upon request. Arrest warrants were located out of Fair Lawn totaling $1,960. He was charged with 2 counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, then released after bail was posted.

Geovanny Buitron initiated a motor vehicle stop on Route 208 North at Fair Lawn Avenue and arrested a passenger, Ramon DeJesus, age 18 of Mount Vernon, NY, after marijuana  was found in his backpack. He was released after being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia & failure to wear a seatbelt.

08/05/2018 9:07 pm Narcotics: P.O. Tiller Uriarte initiated a motor vehicle stop on Maple Avenue at Cedar Street and arrested the operator, Mike Polanco, age 28 of Elmhurst, NY, after marijuana was discovered inside the vehicle. He was released after being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance & failure to stop at a red light.

08/07/2018 12:02 pm Trespassing: P.O. Christopher Siano & P.O. Luis Vasquez responded to Pro-Metric, 33-00 Broadway, on a report of a disruptive person in the office and arrested Mariam Awad, age 42 of Jersey City, after she refused to leave the office after being ordered to do so and then resisting the officers when they were arresting her. She was released after being charged with trespassing & resisting arrest.

Chief Glen Cauwels stated all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. I
