June 29 - 4:03 pm - Obstruction:  P.O. Tiller Uriarte was investigating a motor vehicle crash on Bellair Avenue at Cadmus Place when a male, later identified as James Church, age 22 of Fair Lawn, approached the crash scene and began to yell profanities to the emergency crews on scene.  After being told on numerous occasions to leave the scene, he was arrested. Church was released after being charged with obstruction & disorderly conduct.

June 30 - 12:21 pm - Wanted Person:  P.O. John Rovetto & P.O. Timothy Ammann responded to the dead end of 30th Street on a report of a suspicious person and arrested Alfonso Rembert, age 61 of Paterson, after an arrest warrant was located out of Paterson for $200.  He was handed over to Paterson Police.

July 1 - 3:31 pm - Shoplifting:  P.O. Stephen Buskiewicz & P.O. Chris Sullivan responded to ShopRite, 17-17 River Road, on a report of a shoplifting and arrested Ian Hartman, age 21 of Fair Lawn, after he was detained by store loss prevention with $48.01 in unpaid items in his backpack.  He was released after being charged with shoplifting.

July 2 - 9:39 pm - Narcotics:  P.O. Justin DiGuglielmo initiated a motor vehicle stop on Broadway at Cyril Avenue and arrested the operator, Dana Thomas, age 26 of Bloomfield, after marijuana was discovered inside the vehicle. She was released after being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, operating with a suspended license & operating an unregistered vehicle.

July 3 - 1:25 am - Narcotics:  P.O. Geovanny Buitron initiated a motor vehicle stop on Route 4 West in Paramus and arrested the operator, Joshua Christophe, age 20 of Spring Valley, NY, after marijuana was discovered inside the vehicle.  He was released after being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance & failure to signal a turn.

July 4 - 10:31 am - Shoplifting:  Fair Lawn Police responded to CVS, 18-35 River Road, after a report of 2 male shoplifters who fled the store with unpaid items.  P.O. Stephen Buskiewicz approached 2 males matching the description on East 23rd Street in Paterson, but they fled on foot until eventually captured.

Sergei Derunets, age 28 of Hackensack, was charged with shoplifting & obstruction.  He was turned over to Hawthorne Police for a $2,500 arrest warrant.

Joshua Boyd, age 25 of Passaic, was charged with shoplifting, obstruction & possession of a hypodermic needle.  He was turned over to Passaic County Sheriff’s Department for a no bail arrest warrant. He also had warrants out of Passaic ($500), Paramus ($341) & Parsippany ($300).

July 4 - 12:03 pm - Shoplifting:  Fair Lawn Police responded to CVS, 18-35 River Road, on a report of a male shoplifter who was leaving the business.  When Sgt. Peter Yuskaitis approached the male, later identified as Anthony Cole, age 37 of Pompton Lakes, Cole ran from him across Maple Avenue Bridge where he was captured. Unpaid items totaling $291.92 were found outside the store in a bag. Cole, who had arrest warrants out of Ridgewood ($1,000), Oakland ($1,000) & Camden ($500), was charged with shoplifting & obstruction, then handed over to Ridgewood Police.

July 5 - 1:19 am - Narcotics:  P.O. Juan Rodriguez approached 2 parties near Beaverdam Park after hearing fireworks explode and arrested Killian Godfrey, age 20 of Paramus, after finding fireworks, mushrooms and LSD in his bag.  He was released after being charged with 2 counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance & possession of illegal fireworks.

July 8 - 10:21 pm - Wanted Person:  P.O. Robert Iozzia initiated a motor vehicle stop on Fair Lawn Avenue at Pollitt Drive and arrested the operator, Christopher Heddinger, age 43 of Totowa, after arrest warrants were discovered out of Passaic County (no bail) & Ramsey ($728).  He was charged with operating with a suspended license, then handed over to the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department.

July 10 - 9:00 pm - Wanted Person:  P.O. Geovanny Buitron initiated a motor vehicle stop on Broadway at Cyril Avenue and arrested the operator, Xavier Nieves, age 25 of Orange, after arrest warrants were discovered out of Wayne ($1,460), Paterson ($500), Orange ($350) & Bloomfield ($150).  He was charged with tinted windows on a motor vehicle & operating with a suspended license, then handed over to Wayne Police.

July 12 - 12:11 am - Narcotics:  P.O. John Rovetto initiated a motor vehicle stop on Fern Street at Maple Avenue and arrested the operator, David Rainey, age 31 of Fair Lawn, after finding evidence of drug use inside the vehicle.  The vehicle, with fresh crash damage, was found to have been involved in a motor vehicle crash on Route 20 at 5th Avenue in Paterson involving another vehicle.  Rainey was released after being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, following too closely & operating an unsafe vehicle.  Paterson Police investigated the motor vehicle crash.

July 13 - Theft:  On 5/15/18, Fair Lawn Police responded to Lab Corp, 19-21 Fair Lawn Avenue, on a report of a theft of a $1,560 cash payment.  Det. Mark Wyka took over the investigation and arrested Claudia Mendoza, age 38 of Clifton, for the theft. She was released after being charged with theft of movable property.

July 17 - 10:18 pm - Shoplifting:  P.O. John Rovetto, P.O. Brian Goodson, P.O. Javier Gutierrez, P.O. John Kelly, P.O. Geovanny Buitron & P.O. Justin DiGuglielmo responded to Shoprite, 17-17 River Road, on a report of a shoplifting in progress and arrested Feliciano Mendoza, age 46 of Paterson & Marilyn Ortiz, age 41 of Paterson, after they were stopped outside the store with $102.25 in unpaid items in Ortiz’s purse. Both were released after being charged with shoplifting.

July 22 - 11:53 am - Wanted Person:  P.O. Tiller Uriarte initiated a motor vehicle stop on Floral Avenue and arrested the operator, Natan Dizenfeld, age 31 of Fair Lawn, after arrest warrants were located out of Elmwood Park ($1,500), Saddle Brook ($1,000), Union Township ($1,000) & Jersey City ($100).  He was charged with operating while using a handheld device, operating with a suspended license & 2 counts of failing to provide vehicle documents, then released after bail was posted.
