Sept. 24 - 1:09 pm Wanted Person: P.O. Tiller Uriarte approached a suspicious person walking on Broadway at Saddle River Road and arrested Shakur Yough, age 25 of Paterson, after arrest warrants were located out of Fair Lawn ($750), Edgewater ($572), Rochelle Park ($500) and Paterson ($250). He was sent to Bergen County Jail.
Sept. 24 - 4:56 pm Shoplifting: P.O. Miguel Cruz, P.O. Robert Belbol, Det. Paul Donohue & Sgt. Nicholas Snyder responded to CVS, 18-35 River Road, on a report of a shoplifter who fled the store. Det. Donohue found Jason Whitty, age 38 of Pequannock, sitting in a parked vehicle with unpaid items, totaling $15.85, in the vehicle. He was released after being charged with shoplifting.
Sept. 24 - 7:50 pm Wanted Person: P.O. Michael Van Ness initiated a motor vehicle stop on Broadway at Tunbridge Road and arrested the operator, Heidy Ralda-Guardado, age 48 of Jamaica, NY, after arrest warrants were located out of Fair Lawn ($350) & Carlstadt ($250). She was released after bail was posted.
Sept. 27 - 11:34 am Shoplifting: Det. Brian Rypkema approached a suspicious person walking on River Road at Maple Avenue and arrested Allen Ziemba, age 43, after finding unpaid items, totaling $101.25, rolled up in a newspaper taken from Advanced Auto Parts, 18-37 River Road. He was released after being charged with shoplifting.
Sept. 28 - 9:26 am Shoplifting: P.O. Luke Hintzen, P.O. William Hickey & Sgt. Peter Yuskaitis responded to Shoprite, 17-17 River Road, and arrested Thomas Hayes, age 68 of Hawthorne, after he was detained by store loss prevention with $34.91 in unpaid items hidden in a basket. He was released after being charged with shoplifting.
Sept. 29 - 12:22 am Narcotics: P.O. Juan Rodriguez initiated a motor vehicle stop on Morlot Avenue at 2nd Street and arrested the operator, Oliver Schlender, age 32 of New Milford, after heroin was handed over to the officer. He was released after being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance & maintenance of vehicle lamps.
Sept. 30 - 1:27 am Driving While Intoxicated: P.O. Juan Rodriguez responded to a motor vehicle crash on Maple Avenue at Hemlock Avenue and arrested the operator, Natasha Sedlacek, age 28 of Fair Lawn, after she failed a roadside sobriety test. She was released to a family member after being charged with careless driving & driving while intoxicated.
