There will be several other performances throughout the evening, including the BopTones and DJ music throughout. There will be food sales, but guests and walkers are welcome to bring their own. Bring some cash because there will be a tricky tray, as well.

Last laps will be from 5:30-5:45 a.m. Whew! The closing is at 6 a.m.

While the weather for the event looks damp, there is no guarantee that it won't be dry enough to get in hours of laps! According to, intermittent showers are forecasted during the overnight hours of the event, so dress accordingly. Maybe we will be lucky and stay relatively dry!

Relay For Life is the national signature activity of the American Cancer Society and the largest fundraising activity in the world – it is a celebration of hope, progress and answers.

Groups of friends, families, and neighbors form teams and walk or run around a track, raising funds, awareness, and spirits. Honoring those who have survived cancer and remembering the millions who have not, Relay brings communities together to make a difference.

Relay is an overnight event because cancer never sleeps.

"Though we will strive to keep the noise down, please forgive us if it drifts into the neighborhood throughout the night," borough officials said in a press release. "You are welcome to attend this special event to learn a little bit more and to see how beautiful the site is and to help us honor our survivors and caregivers and remember those we lost to the disease."
