Fair Lawn Veterans Outreach Fair & Concert Scheduled for Sept. 23

FAIR LAWN - The second annual Veteran Information and Outreach Fair and Concert is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 23.

The Borough of Fair Lawn’s Office of Veterans Affairs, along with Rock Our Vets announced the event will be 12-5 p.m. at the Memorial Middle School, 12-00 1st Street.

The main purpose of the fair is to educate military members, veterans and their families about resources, programs and services. The outdoor free concert is intended to thank them for their service and an opportunity to spend time with family and fellow veterans.

The community is invited to attend the concert 1:30-5 p.m. by Midnight Rock Show: The Ultimate 1970's Rock Tribute Experience and Sean Faust. The concert location is in the field behind the school. Chairs or blankets are encouraged. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the Memorial School auditorium.  

Some of the 40-plus exhibitors include the Fair Lawn Chamber of Commerce, American Legion, American Red Cross, Bergen County Veterans Services, Bergen Regional Medical Center, Catholic Charities, New Jersey Department of Military & Veterans Affairs, Secaucus Vet Center & Mobile Veteran Center, Veterans Affairs New Jersey Health Care System, Veterans Affairs Newark Regional Office Claims, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). 

A round table presentation on Veteran benefits featuring A. J. Luna, Director of Bergen County Veterans Services. Joe Restivo, Service Officer, New Jersey Dept of Military & Veterans Affairs. Bob Salvini, Commander of the Bergen County American Legion and Frank Quadrino, Chief of Staff of Veterans Affairs, Lyons NJ. is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Rock Our Vets will be selling event t-shirts, hats and autographed guitars from musicians Dave Mason, Dr. John, Tommy James and bands America, Vanilla Fudge, The Rascals and more. All proceeds will help Rock Our Vets continue to assist Veterans in the community.  See Facebook at “Rock Our Vets” or at www.RockOurVets.org for more information.
