FAIR LAWN, NJ - Zadies Bakery on Fair Lawn Avenue was a spectacle this morning after a 79-year-old female drove through the store front injuring a man in the store with flying glass, police said.

Today, July 11, at 10:40 a.m., Fair Lawn Police responded to the bakery, 19-09 Fair Lawn Avenue, where they found a car had crashed into the store front. The establishment sustained heavy damage, police said, and was deemed uninhabitable by the Fair Lawn building department. 

A 2013 four-door Lexus had fully crashed into the establishment, according to police. The Fair Lawn driver was pulling into a parking spot and hit the gas instead of the brake crashing through the pillar in front of her and then through the store front.

She and her male passenger, a 90-year-old male from Fair Lawn were not injured in the crash.

However, a 63-year-old male from Flushing, NY had a leg injury from flying glass and was treated and released at the scene by the Fair Lawn Ambulance Corp.

The driver of the vehicle was issued a summons for careless driving.
