Fair Lawn’s River Road Family Fun Day Scheduled for June 17

Fair Lawn’s River Road district is welcoming summer with a full schedule of activities at Family Fun Day, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., June 17 on River Road between Berdan and Fair Lawn Avenues (rain or shine).

Presented by Inserra ShopRite, this free event features entertainment, fun activities for kids and community displays with information and giveaways.

Dance demonstrations, a DJ, vocal performances, games and prizes will be a major attraction at Dance Designs Studio (12-38 River Road). Stroll along the sidewalks on River Road to get your sculptured balloon from “Juggles” sponsored by Empress Diner and ‘Jump, Jive An’ Wail’ with live music from the The Detours.

Get the kids active at the Kids Fun Zone (Chase Bank parking lot on corner of River Road and Fair Lawn Avenue) in the multi-colored castle bouncy and participate in sidewalk chalk art being lead by Fair Lawn High School students. Visit the Family Fun Day Facebook event page for more information about the many activities and participants you’ll find at the event.

Kids can participate in robotic, coding and engineering demos with Sylvan Learning Center and make slime with Mad Science of Northeast NJ, both Fair Lawn Broadway businesses. Visit Inserra ShopRite’s booth for samples of healthily snacks, recipes and learn about its dietitian services. There will be other businesses and organizations with special promotions, giveaways and activities for families.

If you are ready to adopt a pet, Bergen County Protect and Rescue will have animals for adoption and can assist you with the best choice for you and your family. After you select your pet, visit River Road’s My Best Friend for fun and important accessories you’ll need for your new family member.

River Road District business owners have donated gift certificates to give away. These certificates will give winners an opportunity to try new products or services at the participating businesses. While strolling along, look for the Facebook sign-in person to win gift certificates from Bloom Yoga, Fisher’s Café, Juany’s Café and Grill, Davia Restaurant and other district businesses.

Stores on River Road will be open with displays and special promotions. Come for lunch and snacks at your favorite River Road district restaurant, take out and ice cream. The River Road district offers convenient and free parking.
