GLEN ROCK, NJ – Local volunteer Joanne Cooney Corazza rallied 5th-grade Hamilton School families to donate 50 bags of food to Community Meals Inc., a local, non-profit meals on wheels program.
On April 17, Corazza, a long-time CMI volunteer and Hamilton School mom, delivered 50 bags of food for the CMI food drive on behalf of Glen Rock’s Hamilton School 5th Grade. The reusable bags each had a message of hope and encouragement for the CMI clients.
Community Meals Inc. (CMI) aka Community Meals on Wheels is a private, non-profit meals on wheels program serving Allendale, Glen Rock, Ho-Ho-Kus, Midland Park, Ridgewood, Waldwick and part of Saddle River.
“I’ve been delivering meals for CMI for many years and have always hoped to get students involved," Corazza said. "The opportunity finally arrived.”
Corazza helped organize the donation as part of Hamilton School’s 5th grade service project.
“Hamilton School has always been focused on promoting kindness and community service," she said. "It’s been such a blessing for me and my family to be a part of this ongoing effort.”
CMI Board member Eileen Hillock shared in a Glen Rockers Facebook post, “Glen Rock kids ROCK! This is such a generous and heartwarming donation to the Community Meals food drive. The loving and artistically decorated bags will certainly bring a smile to each recipient for months to come.”
CMI continues to collect shelf stable food items for clients to have on hand in the event of a delivery disruption. Food drive donations may be dropped off at 385 Bedford Road, Ridgewood, NJ.
