During the period between May 28 and May June 3, 2018, members of the GRPD handled 396 calls for service, the highlights of which included:
June 1 - 12:51 PM – A 46-year-old Paterson man was detained by the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department on a 2016 criminal warrant issued by the Glen Rock Municipal Court. The man was taken into custody at the Passaic County Jail by Det. Lucas Doney and P.O. John Tarantino who transported him to the Bergen County Jail.
June 1 - 5:36 PM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Berry Place, Sgt. Mike Trover arrested a 38-year-old Mahwah man for possession of 3 baggies of crack cocaine. The man was subsequently transported to police headquarters where he was processed on one count of drug possession and released on his own recognizance pending an appearance before Central Judicial Processing at the Superior Court in Hackensack on June 15. The driver of the vehicle, a 22-year-old Mahwah man, was issued traffic summonses for operating a vehicle with a broken windshield and failure to provide proof of insurance.
June 1 - 8:31 PM – The manager of the CVS Store on Rock Road reporting the shoplifting of approximately $809 worth of merchandise. According to employees a male subject filled a shopping cart with body spray items and razors then left without paying. An employee followed the subject outside the store, however, lost sight of him as he entered onto Rock Road. A review of video surveillance images from the store detected the involvement of a second male suspect. Detectives are currently working to identify both men.
June 2 - 11:47 AM – Patrols were dispatched to a 9-1-1 report of a disturbance in the Central Business District on Rock Road. Officers subsequently located a 63-year-old woman on the sidewalk in front a store who was irate that her clock had not yet been repaired. The matter was resolved when the woman agreed it would be best for her to leave the area and return at a later date.
June 2 - 6:59 PM – A 42-year-old Nutley man was detained by the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department on a 2017 criminal warrant issued by the Glen Rock Municipal Court. The man was taken into custody at the Passaic County Jail by D/Sgt. Jim Calaski and P.O. Will Holguin who transported him to the Bergen County Jail.
