GLEN ROCK - Glen Rock Borough Council Candidates Eileen Maher Hillock and Michelle Torpey hosted a Family Fun Day at the Doremus Avenue Children’s Park in Glen Rock on Sept. 16.

Multi-generational Glen Rock families turned out for the simple, down-to-earth fun family event. From rock painting, to sipping frozen ices on the unseasonably warm day, from cookies and chips to Arboretum BINGO, there was something for everyone. Glen Rock families smiled and laughed together and neighbors mingled, chatted and played games.

“We planned a simple family event primarily to spread one of our key messages to Glen Rockers,  it’s all about kindness," Torpey said. "Glen Rock is an amazing town with many friendly welcoming neighbors. That’s why we invited everyone to stop by, say hi and participate in this fun family event."

Hillock remarked, “we had such a great day painting rocks, making new friends and just talking about what makes Glen Rock such a great place to live.  People of all ages from all over town stopped by to say hi.  Kids made new friends.  It was so cool.“

Hillock added, “We borrowed the rock painting idea from our Girl Scouts who initiated the “Glen Rock Kindness Rocks” project last spring. I always love seeing all the painted rocks in our gorgeous flowerbeds in town, and Michelle and I want to continue spreading that message of friendship, love and inclusion all throughout Glen Rock.“
