FAIR LAWN, NJ - On Saturday, September 26, voting and the Census come to the forefront at the Fair Lawn Library between 10 am - 4 pm when representatives from the League of Women Voters and representatives from the Census will assist residents with voter registration and voting by mail (VBM), in addition to filling out the Census, respectively.
October 13 is the last day to register to vote. And now you can register online: https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/register
This is a unique election year in many ways and the League of Women Voters wants to help the community learn how to fill out their vote by mail ballot and answer their voting questions.
And there is still time to fill out the Census. At the September 26 event at the Fair Lawn Library, a Census representative will be available to answer questions and help residents fill out the questionnaire. You can also still respond to the Census yourself by visiting my2020census.gov , by calling 844-330-2020, or by sending back the Census form you received in the mail.
Currently, Fair Lawn’s Census response rate is close to 83%. We can and should do better. Why? At last count, $1.5 trillion in federal money was apportioned to state and local governments based on census data.
Please contact the League of Women Voters at LWVFairlawn.com or the Mayor’s office at 201-794-5344 with any questions or concerns you may have about voting and the Census. Make sure Fair Lawn Counts! And make sure your vote counts!
