Martin & Kreibich Take Glen Rock Borough Council Seats

GLEN ROCK - Democrat incumbent Amy Martin and newcomer Arati Kreibich defeated republican challengers Eileen Hillock and Michelle Torpey for Glen Rock's Borough Council on Nov. 7.

Martin garnered the most votes, 2,241, and her running mate, Kreibich came in second with 2,201 votes, defeating Hillock, 2,010 votes, and Torpey, 1,943 votes.

Of the 8,796 registered voters, 4,033 votes were cast, or 45.9%.

The borough approved question one, 2,495 to 953, which was the library bond appropriation, authorizing the state to raise funds to improve libraries statewide. The initiative was approved overall on the state level.

The borough approved question two, 2,562 to 709, which was the environmental devoted funds gained from environmental lawsuits. This initiative was approved statewide, as well.

The vote totals include the absentee ballots. The county will certify the vote in approximately a week, according to the borough clerk's office.
