FAIR LAWN, NJ - There will be a "large" funeral procession and funeral for Fair Lawn Police Officer Edward J. Egan tomorrow, Saturday, September 15 at the Van Riper Ellis Church located at Morlot Avenue and River Road, 7-01 River Road, beginning at 12 Noon until 8 p.m.
Police officers and borough personnel will be in the area to assist with detours and road closures.
Police Officer Egan served the department for nearly 20 years and was still serving at the time of his death. Viewing will be from 2-7 p.m., and the funeral mass will be from 7-8 p.m.
Police have predicted as many as 1,000 people will be in attendance for the well-known "beloved colleague," as stated on the Fair Lawn Police web page. Officer Egan would have turned 53 on Sept. 11.
Use caution in the area and plan an alternate route of travel between 12 Noon and 8:00 p.m. tomorrow.
