FAIR LAWN, NJ - The Fair Lawn Police Department, in its commitment to keep Fair Lawn’s safety and security their #1 priority, is asking residents and businesses to ‘Help Us To Help You’ by registering video surveillance systems with the police department.

By registering, it means the owner of the surveillance system would agree to allow the police department access to the video surveillance system if there is a crime committed in the neighborhood. Registration, which is voluntary and free, would give the police department a file of addresses that could be quickly searched.

If a crime was to occur in the neighborhood, the police department would contact the resident or business at a reasonable hour to observe and possibly receive a copy of the video for the investigation.

Registration forms are available for pick-up at Fair Lawn Police Headquarters, 8-01 Fair Lawn Avenue.  Any questions can be forwarded to Det/Lt. Tim O’Shaughnessy at 201-564-6165 or at toshaughnessy@fairlawnpd.com.
