Public is Invited to Attend Community-Wide Event at No Charge, Enjoy Games, Entertainment and More
FAIR LAWN, NJ. – The annual Relay For Life of Glen Rock and Fair Lawn will be held from 6 p.m. Saturday, June 1 until 6 a.m. June 2, 2019 at the Glen Rock High School football field at 600 Harristown Road, Glen Rock. Teams from both towns and surrounding areas have been preparing for the event for months, raising money in their communities and online for Relay For Life, the signature fundraiser of the American Cancer Society and the world’s largest fundraising event dedicated to fighting cancer.
On Saturday, June 1 from 4 to 8 p.m., there will be a selection of family-friendly activities that are free and open to all: entertainment by clowns, face painting, cupcake decorating, live music, carnival games and contests. Admission is free; tickets for some activities will be available for a nominal donation. Area families are invited to attend and see what Relay is all about. The snack bar will have refreshments for sale, with proceeds going to Relay For Life. There is no charge to participate.
Area residents are also encouraged to log onto the Glen Rock and Fair Lawn chapter site at http://bit.ly/RelayGRFL and support teams or individuals who are walking with a monetary donation of any amount.
During Relay, team members take turns walking around a track continuously to signify that cancer never sleeps; teams also set up themed campsites and participants enjoy entertainment, games and activities throughout the 12-hour event. Relay is staffed and coordinated by volunteers from the community. Individuals, families and local companies are encouraged to form teams to help raise money for the American Cancer Society.
