FAIR LAWN, NJ - A "suspicious" male tried again to enter Warren Point School and failed to get into the building, not for the first time, according to a police report.
On Monday, Feb. 5, at approximately 1 p.m. during the school day, fourth-grade students reported a male tried to enter the building on 30th Street side. Warren Point Elementary School, 30-07 Broadway, is on the corner of Broadway and 30th Street.
"According to fourth-grade students who witnessed the incident, the students were in reading time in the hallway and stairway on the south side of the building when a white male, approximately 30 years of age, clean shaven, wearing a black sweatshirt with a green hood and green trim along the
bottom of the sweatshirt, came up to the door on the 30 h Street side of the building and knocked on the door, motioning for the students to open the door," according to police.
The suspicious individual then went to the playground-side of the building and attempted the same thing, police said.
He then walked away from the area, according to police and "entry was never made into the building."
Police said witnesses allege that this has happened on ‘a few’ occasions.
