May 14 - Forgery: On 5-7-19, the victim from Premier Movers, 12-45 River Road, reported to Fair Lawn Police that after paying a female employee for work performed, she never returned to work but found 5 fraudulent checks that had been cashed against the company׳s account, totaling $1,882.00.
Det. Paul Donohue took over the investigation and arrested Daisy Moss, age 37 of Passaic, without incident after she confessed to what had occurred. She was charged with theft by deception and forgery, then handed over to Hackensack Police due to an arrest warrant out of their jurisdiction.
May 14 - 7:29 pm Shoplifting: P.O. Michael Van Ness, P.O. Thomas Spear, P.O. Anthony Ferreira, P.O. Mark Roskowsky and P.O. Michael Franco responded to Shoprite, 17-17 River Road, after a report of a female shoplifter who fled the store and arrested Carlee Zita, age 19 of Oak Ridge, after she was stopped in the parking lot with $268.24 in unpaid items in bags. Heroin was found in her clothing during a search. She was released after being charged with shoplifting, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic needles.
Chief Glen Cauwels stated all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
