11/05/2018 - 6:58 pm Shoplifting: Fair Lawn Police responded to the area of ShopRite, 17-17 River Road, after a shoplifter fled the store, attempting to take $186.94 in unpaid items hidden in a shopping cart. P.O. Thomas Spear located Otis Johnson, age 28 of Paterson, on Wagaraw Road near Lincoln Avenue and arrested him after he admitted to the attempted theft. He was released after being charged with shoplifting.
11/06/2018 - 8:56 pm Shoplifting: P.O. Javier Gutierrez responded to the area of CVS, 18-35 River Road, after two shoplifters fled the store. He located Joseph Peterson, age 51 of Paterson, and Ginamarie Rochinski, age 23 of Haskell, on East 23rd Street at 2nd Avenue in Paterson and arrested both when the unpaid items were found with them, totaling $245.66. Both were charged with shoplifting. Rochinski was released, while Peterson was sent to Bergen County Jail.
11/07/2018 - 3:25 am Narcotics: P.O. Geovanny Buitron initiated a motor vehicle stop on Route 4 East at Paramus Road and arrested the passenger, Mohamed Elfaramawy, age 34 of Paramus, after heroin was located inside the vehicle. Arrest warrants were located out of Hackensack ($1,650) and Toms River ($350). He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic needle and failure to wear a seatbelt, then handed over to Hackensack Police.
11/08/2018 - 2:59 pm Wanted Person: Det. Anthony Lugo & Det. Brian Rypkema responded to a residence on Forest Street and arrested Jasmine Jerez, age 27 of Fair Lawn, after she had escaped from custody with Paterson Police on November 7. Arrest warrants were located out of Passaic County (no bail) and Fair Lawn ($750). She was handed over to Paterson Police.
11/10/2018 - 4:51 pm Narcotics: P.O. Robert Belbol, P.O. Peter Federico & Sgt. Nicholas Snyder responded to the Radburn Park at Randolph Terrace on a report of marijuana being used in the park and arrested Christopher Tavarez, age 20 of Paterson, and Kayla Milley-Agamez, age 19 of Paterson, after finding them with marijuana in their bags. Both were released after being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Chief Glen Cauwels stated all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
