09/07/2019 3:53 pm Theft: P.O. Stephen Buskiewicz, P.O. Michael O׳Brien & P.O. Robert Manning responded to the area of a residence on 3rd Street after the resident reported seeing a male take a package from his front steps through his Ring video doorbell. Two juvenile males on bicycles were stopped on 4th Street near Morlot Avenue and were detained after the package that was taken was found nearby. Both juveniles (age 14, Paterson) were handed over to their parents. The juvenile who took the package will be charged with theft of movable property in family court.
09/07/2019 10:19 pm Weapons/Narcotics: P.O. Geovanny Buitron initiated a motor vehicle stop on Broadway at Tunbridge Road and arrested the operator, Wade Chindemi, age 29 of Pearl River, NY, and the passenger, Alyisa Em, age 28 of Pearl River, NY, after a pellet gun, brass knuckles, heroin, promethazine & marijuana were discovered inside the vehicle. More heroin was found in both of their clothing during a search incident to arrest.
Chindemi was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, prohibited weapons, certain persons not to have weapons, 3 counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession of drug paraphernalia & careless driving.
Em was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, prohibited weapons, 2 counts of possession of CDS & possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both were sent to Bergen County Jail.
09/09/2019 2:16 am Theft: Det. Anthony Lugo approached a male on a bicycle, carrying a large garbage bag, on the Morlot Avenue Bridge and arrested Jerry Robinson, age 56 of Paterson, when it was determined that the bicycle and multiple power tools in the garbage bag had been taken from a garage on Morlot Avenue. Arrest warrants were located out of Passaic County (no bail), Paterson ($2250) & Fair Lawn ($408). He was charged with burglary & theft of movable property, then was handed over to the Passaic County Sheriff׳s Department.
09/11/2019 2:28 pm Narcotics: S.R.O. Sean Nagle arrested a 16-year-old male student from Fair Lawn High School, 14-00 Berdan Avenue, after school administration discovered marijuana in the juvenile׳s assigned locker. He was released to a family member. He will be charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance & possession of drug paraphernalia in family court.
09/14/2019 9:10 pm Narcotics: P.O. John Rovetto initiated a motor vehicle stop on Route 208 South approaching Maple Avenue and arrested the operator, Dwight Beckford, age 32 of Hackensack, after marijuana & cocaine was discovered inside the vehicle. He was released after being charged with 2 counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia & operating with a suspended license.
Chief Glen Cauwels stated all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
