During the period between June 3 and June 9, 2019, members of the GRPD handled 256 calls for service, the highlights of which included:

6-3-2019 - 9:07 AM – P.O. Onove responded to the 600 block of Harristown Road on a report of criminal mischief.  A line of red spray paint was found on a no parking sign as well as on the sidewalk. The DPW was notified to attempt to remove the red spray paint.  

6-5-2019 - 8:39 AM – Sgt. Carter responded to the Academy of Our Lady School on Rodney Street on a report of an odor in the building. The odor of sulfuric acid was coming from the area of the media center. The school was evacuated, and the fire department responded to the scene. It was found that a bad battery back-up was the source of the odor. The fire department ventilated the building and then the students and staff were allowed back inside.

6-6-2019 - 6:50 PM – A resident of Dunham Place reported a theft of a package. The resident stated that she received a Ring doorbell notification of motion on her front porch. When she watched the video, she observed an unknown male party take an Amazon package from her porch. The male party walked back out to the roadway and was picked up by a dark colored four door sedan. The detective bureau is investigating.  

6-9-2019 - 6:48 AM – Officers responded to a residence on Central Avenue for a reported stolen vehicle.  The resident stated that he parked his Audi Q5 in his driveway around 8:00 PM on June 8, 2019 and when he woke up on the morning of June 9th, the vehicle was gone. He stated that his wife’s car was parked behind the Audi in the driveway, and it appears that the actor(s) drove the vehicle across his front lawn.  The vehicle was unlocked at the time and the key fob was in the vehicle. The vehicle was entered into NCIC as a stolen vehicle and the detective bureau is investigating.
