FAIR LAWN, NJ - The Borough is no longer using Nixle for text communications and notification services. The Borough has replaced Nixle and contracted with Code Red. Code Red is secure and reliable and allows the Borough and the Police Department to send important, valuable community information directly to residents using the latest technology. Code Red allows us to create and publish messages to be delivered to subscribers instantly via cell phone text messaging and/or email.
Code Red is also the Borough’s telephone notification provider for emergency notifications. This system, combined with our other emergency alert methods, is designed to get emergency messages to you quickly and effectively. This does not preclude you from calling 911 if you need emergency information; it simply provides an opportunity for us to disseminate critical information to you if and when the need arises. The reason is to gather as many means of contacts as you may have, so that in the event of an emergency that affects Fair Lawn, we can notify you in multiple ways.
