GLEN ROCK, NJ – Area residents are invited to a fun evening of karaoke on Friday, June 14 at Stone & Rail restaurant, 175 Rock Road in Glen Rock. The event is being hosted by Mayor Bruce Packer to raise money for the Glen Rock and Fair Lawn chapter of Relay For Life, the major community-wide fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The event, which is being co-sponsored by the restaurant, starts at 8:00 p.m. and costs $30 per person, payable in cash at the door. The fee includes one song and finger food buffet. Additional songs may be purchased at the event (cash only), with the donations going directly to Relay For Life.

The chapter’s Relay was held overnight on June 1 – June 2 at Glen Rock High School, with moving ceremonies, participants walking around the track, themed campsites and entertainment, games and activities throughout the 12-hour event. Relay is staffed and coordinated by volunteers from the community.

Fundraising for this Relay will continue through August; the public is encouraged to donate or attend the summer events to help raise money that supports cancer research and support services for cancer patients and caregivers. Donations to teams or the chapter may be made online at http://bit.ly/RelayGRFL. To date, around $67,000 has been raised toward the chapter’s goal of $95,000, thanks to generous individuals, families, companies and sponsors.
