GLEN ROCK, NJ - It was artificially icy on Saturday, but skaters were excited about the Second Annual Wilde Winter Ice Skating Event at Wilde Memorial Park, sponsored by the Borough of Glen Rock.
On Saturday, February 1, the Borough of Glen Rock created a rink from artificial ice brought in for skaters of all ages to enjoy, as well as music, games and free hot chocolate.
Council member Mary Barchetto who organized the event with Director of Parks and Recreation, Katie Frey, said “It was such a wonderful day. The ice was full of families all having a great time. It was fantastic to see residents chatting together over a cup of hot chocolate, while their children played games. Such a fun way to bring the community together and beat the winter blues!”
Barchetto said the Borough has more fun events planned for the year, and she looks forward to seeing residents coming together often to enjoy what the town has to offer.
“We will be bringing back our Touch a Truck event in April, as well as our town-wide Movie and Campout this summer," she said. "Events like these are what make Glen Rock such a special place to live.”
