GLEN ROCK, NJ - Diarra Grace Smith is a local dancer who will represent the United States as a part of The American Dance Company at the International Dance Organization World Championship in Warsaw, Poland, December 1 – December 8.
Out of hundreds of dancers, Diarra who hails from Glen Rock was selected to compete after auditioning through Chelsea Guidice, owner and artistic director of the 5-6-7-8 Dance School in Totowa, NJ, a school known for its regional, state and national title championships. This year, the 5-6-7-8 Dance School will be represented on the international level at the IDO World Dance Championships.
The American Dance Company is an all-star dance company comprised of the USA's most promising up and coming dance stars. American Dance Company members have the opportunity to compete, train and perform around the world. The Company has competed at the IDO World Dance Championships since 2003 and each year the dancers have returned home decorated in gold, silver, and bronze medals.
The International Dance Organization is a world dance and dancesport federation with a membership of over 90 nations, representing more than 250,000 dancers from six continents. It is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1981.
