GLEN ROCK, NJ - While parents and children gathered for the 2019 Santa Train Ride, hosted by the Glen Rock Jaycees, a mysterious snowman spread cheer among the holiday revelers.
TAPinto has learned the snowman was representing "Small Business Saturday®," a day dedicated to supporting small businesses and communities across the country," according to the American Express website. "Founded by American Express in 2010, this day is celebrated each year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Since it started in 2010, consumers have reported spending an estimated $103 billion across all Small Business Saturdays combined."
Small Business Saturday® is scheduled for tomorrow, Nov. 30. Congressman Josh Gottheimer is scheduled for a visit in the early afternoon.
Glen Rock Chamber of Commerce members, Eileen Hillock, of Glen Rock NJ Dog Park, and Gary Wiecenski, vice president and branch manager at M&T Bank, escorted the funny snowman as it walked from Glen Rock Borough Hall Train Station through the crowd and down Rock Road.
The snowman is scheduled to appear at the Holiday Hoopla event, organized by the Glen Rock Holiday Committee, on the Borough Hall lawn Dec. 7.
