GLEN ROCK, NJ - Glen Rock Community School’s Preschool registration for Fall 2020 will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2020.
Three classrooms will offer outstanding education with the goal of kindergarten readiness and nurturing the whole child. The Two-Year-Old, Three-Year-Old and Pre-K (ages 4 and 5) classes are staffed with professional, experienced, and caring teachers, along with teacher’s assistants who work with students on educational, social and emotional growth.
Additionally, the classes include all of the wonders of music, art, letter recognition, reading, writing, fine and gross motor skills.
“One of the great benefits of the Preschool at Glen Rock Community School is our location within Glen Rock public schools. Our teachers are able to stay on top of kindergarten trends and preparedness. Plus we have a top-notch team,” said Allison De Meulder, Director of Community School.
Preschool parents will find the teachers are approachable and caring. “We truly have teachers that will go out of their way for students and parents. They are available and collaborative with families,” De Meulder said.
The curriculum has an emphasis on play based learning. In addition to group work, individualized projects and time spent with teachers contributes to the individualized attention the teachers give students. The Preschool also focuses on the importance of community and creativity. The school is a hybrid of styles and this gives the preschool a unique feel.
“We want students to be enthusiastic about learning,” De Meulder said.
The Pre-K program offers half and full day options, and over the past two years, the need and benefits of the full day program are becoming more apparent. The Pre-K program is not the only five-day program, as the three-year olds and two-year olds will also have the option to attend for five days a week. The two- and three- year olds will also have a second option, which is to attend school for three days a week.
There are a limited number of spots for each offering. Registration for returning families, with students currently enrolled in the program is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and registration for new families is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration may only be made in person at the Glen Rock Community School, 600 Harristown Road, Glen Rock, New Jersey.
