The signs of fall are everywhere here in Glen Rock. Children are making their way to school with excitement and anticipation for the new school year. Committees and clubs are back in full swing after the long summer break. Garden centers are filling up with chrysanthemums, pumpkins, and hay bales. Crisp mornings are becoming more frequent. The trees are giving hints of the vibrant yellows, oranges, and reds soon to be part of our landscape.
And, political lawn signs are sprouting up everywhere.
The bright colors of the signs dot the landscape from one end of the town to the other. Some people love the signs. Some people dislike the signs. Others are indifferent. But, when I look at the signs, I see evidence of an active, engaged community. We, the residents of the Borough of Glen Rock, are passionate. We care about what happens. We care about our neighbors. We all want the best for the town. So, as I drive around and see the latest “signs” of fall, I smile. And, I am thankful that I live in a place as caring and vibrant as Glen Rock. Happy Fall, everyone!
