I have been Teresa Gilbreath’s neighbor on Doremus Avenue for many years. She has always been a wonderful neighbor. Having seen how pleasant she and her family are and how well maintained their property is, I am happy she lives across the street from us.
Last year, Teresa and I found ourselves working together on an issue that involved our little part of the Glen Rock community. Proposed changes in traffic flow would have created an untenable situation for those of us who live in the Byrd School community, and I felt the need to speak out against this plan.
It was at that point that Teresa contacted me about the traffic proposal and during the process of successfully challenging it, I was able to observe Teresa’s intelligence, dedication and concern for the Glen Rock community. She was instrumental in communicating with members of the Byrd School area and clearly and cogently discussing and arguing the position that ended up being almost unanimously supported by those residents directly impacted by the proposal.
When I discovered that she was a candidate for the council, I immediately knew that she was the right person for the job. After seeing the good and bad in municipal government in Glen Rock for the 25 years that I’ve been a resident of this great town, I know that Teresa will be an excellent addition to the council and will provide Glen Rock with the type of leadership and governance that we need and deserve.
