HAWTHORNE, NJ - El Gallo Authentic Mexican Cuisine will start offering weekend outdoor seating starting June 19 on Diamond Bridge Avenue in Hawthorne.
“I’m excited to welcome back our customers to sit down and share a meal with us,” says Rei Vazquez, El Gallo owner. “We saw many familiar faces when they picked up meals at our restaurant, but nothing will beat your ability to sit leisurely and enjoy good company and atmosphere with your meals.”
On June 3, Governor Phil Murphy signed Executive Order No. 150, permitting outdoor dining starting Monday, June 15th.
“Restaurants and bars throughout New Jersey have been immensely cooperative with necessary public health measures that were placed upon them while battling the COVID-19 pandemic,” Murphy said. “Allowing outdoor dining and the expansion of alcohol-serving areas will allow restaurants and bars to begin welcoming customers back while continuing to comply with necessary social distancing guidance.”
Along with the announcement, Hawthorne received permission to close Diamond Bridge Avenue, between Lafayette Avenue and Grand Avenue, during weekends and open the area for outdoor dining. El Gallo will be available for outdoor dining during that time.
Establishments will be required to follow a number of COVID-19 health and safety protocols issued by the Department of Health, including a limit of eight customers per table, and requirements of at least six feet of distance between parties.
“I’m so thankful to my Fair Lawn, Glen Rock, and Hawthorne customers for supporting us during such a trying time for everyone,” Rei said. “With this new milestone, I can’t wait to serve your favorite authentic Mexican cuisine in person.”
El Gallo is offering $5 off with each purchase of $15 or more. Limit one per table.
