Three NJ residents came up with an app within a week to connect restaurants with customers: NJDine.com. It’s completely free for restaurants and customers alike.

Since foot traffic to local downtowns has almost come to a standstill, we thought of creating a one-stop platform, where customers can see the latest updates/announcements by restaurants. There is a Dynamic message board that restaurant owners can post with their special deals, announcements etc. Users can favorite their preferred city, cuisine, restaurant, post pictures of take-outs, etc. They can also see store hours, take-out/delivery options etc. and post comments to share their experience with others.

The idea is to bring the main street to travel restricted customers. You can get this App installed on your phone just by visiting www.njdine.com and adding it to your home screen. The App is completely FREE for everyone, and each restaurant will be able to self-manage their information.

About the App
We developed the applications in a way the restaurants can manage their timings and post about their current status and post about their daily offerings on the application. There are a lot of local townships published a list of restaurants open and their phone numbers etc, but a person living in East Hanover who frequents restaurants in other neighboring towns such as Livingston, the information about the restaurants are difficult to find unless I already know the restaurants' name. We also realized the restaurants don't have a way to update whether or not they are offering delivery or curbside pickup or takeout. Data on the App is easy to view/ search, and it is real-time. We provide the options, so the restaurants can upload a photo, so it will be easier to reach all users. The App also provides abilities to post about their takeout experiences. The biggest thing we were able to achieve if someone was already in the app and a restaurant published a new message, it will automatically appear on their screen without the users doing any refresh or any action.
