FAIR LAWN, NJ - Lazon Paints has partnered with the Mary Ann Collura Memorial Scholarship Foundation (MAC Foundation) to help “paint bright futures” for local students.
When visiting Lazon Paints, 17-12 River Road in Fair Lawn, patrons need only mention they are purchasing paint to support the MAC Foundation.
"We give away about $9,000 to $10,000 each year in scholarships," Pastor and former Fair Lawn Detective, David Boone said of the MAC Foundation.
Landzettel & Sons, who began paint manufacturing in Fair lawn in 1932 and have recently reintroduced the Lazon Paints product line which features over 1,000 colors, is offering a $5 per gallon discount off the list price of any Lazon paint product and will donate an additional $5 per gallon directly to the MAC Foundation. The discount begins today, November 1 and extends to December 15. There is no limit to the discount or donations.
According to the Fair Lawn Police Department's Mary Ann Collura Memorial Page, Collura was killed in the line of duty on April 17, 2003 assisting the Clifton Police Department during a vehicle pursuit that ended with a motor vehicle crash in Fair Lawn. Collura was the victim of a fatal gunshot wound.
Collura, 43, was an 18-year veteran of the Fair Lawn Police Department, beginning her career on January 2, 1985. Prior to her appointment to the police department, Officer Collura spent three years as a volunteer with the Fair Lawn Police Reserves.
