GLEN ROCK, NJ – Community Meals Inc. (CMI) aka Community Meals on Wheels is a private, non-profit meals on wheels program serving Allendale, Glen Rock, Ho-Ho-Kus, Midland Park, Ridgewood, Waldwick and part of Saddle River.
CMI staff is doing everything they can to continue delivering meals safely to existing senior clients during this coronavirus pandemic. "Community Meals is so grateful for our amazing volunteers who continue to safely deliver meals to our senior clients during this unprecedented time,” said Penny Schildkraut, Executive Director, Community Meals, Inc.
However, in the event service becomes disrupted for any reason, CMI is also collecting shelf stable food items for clients to have on hand in the event of a delivery disruption. Items may be dropped off at 385 Bedford Road, Ridgewood, NJ. No need to shop especially for this drive, a few items from your home pantry are greatly appreciated.
Suggested items include:
- Oatmeal packets
- Dry cereal (Cheerios, Shredded wheat)
- Shelf stable organic milk
- Small jars of smooth peanut butter
- Pouches or cans of ready chili
- Canned vegetables and fruits
- Canned beans
- Low sodium soup and tuna pouches
We know these food deliveries will be critical to our senior clients, many of whom are medically vulnerable and totally isolated in the event daily meal services ceases. Thank you very much for your support.
Let’s all help each other get through this.
