FAIR LAWN & GLEN ROCK, NJ – Students from Glen Rock High School and Middle School are offering their babysitting services to local families on Friday, December 6 and Friday, December 13, from 6 to 9 p.m. to support the Fair Lawn and Glen Rock Relay For Life.
The fee is $10 per hour, which the students will donate in full to Relay For Life, the signature fundraiser of the American Cancer Society. Registration forms and details are at http://bit.ly/GRbabysit. After parents sign up for the babysitting fundraiser, a student will be assigned to their home. Families must reside in Fair Lawn or Glen Rock.
Relay For Life is a major community-wide program. This fiscal year’s Fair Lawn and Glen Rock Relay will be held overnight on May 30-31, 2020 at Dobrow Athletic Complex on Harristown Road in Fair Lawn, on the Glen Rock border; the chapter alternates locations between the two towns each year. During Relay, team members take turns walking around a track continuously to signify that cancer never sleeps; teams also set up themed campsites and participants enjoy entertainment, games and activities throughout the 12-hour event.
Relay is staffed and coordinated by volunteers from the community. Individuals, families and local companies are encouraged to form teams to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. The leadership team held its first meeting on September 10, which drew area residents who attended to find out about volunteering opportunities.
