FAIR LAWN, NJ - The Fair Lawn Complete Count Census Committee recognized eight winners of the Fair Lawn 2020 Census Complete Count Poster Contest at the Borough Council meeting on February 25.

"On behalf of the Council, Fair Lawn Schools, St. Anne's and the Fair Lawn 2020 Census Complete Count Committee, I want to thank all of the 5th-grade students who entered our Complete Count Poster Contest,"  said Ilene Kahn of the Fair Lawn League of Women Voters.

Kahn said the League asked all Fair Lawn Elementary Schools and St. Anne's to participate in the contest to raise awareness of the importance of answering the Census.

"Our community's resources, funding and representation depend on getting the most accurate count of Fair Lawn's population," she said.

"I also want to thank Jeanine Hayek's American Politics and Media Studies students for judging the contest and as you will see, the winners clearly took the contest seriously and produced wonderful posters which will be copied and hung by Ms Hayek's students and other volunteers in retail establishments and other businesses throughout Fair Lawn," she said.

The winners of the poster contest include Maya Rudnick, Noelia Medina, Joelle Apruzzese, Maddie Tait, Kinsey Marzolf, Sahasra Dundigalla, Kamelia Polanco and Melis Ljapo.
