FAIR LAWN, NJ - The borough is scheduled to begin milling (asphalt removal) and resurfacing (paving) on Plaza Road and Plaza Road North beginning Tuesday, June 23. Residents should expect delays in their travels.

While the actual paving portion of the operation is underway it will be necessary to entirely close the street to traffic, according to a borough announcement. 

Milling will commence on Tuesday, June 23 continuing through Wednesday, June 24, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., weather permitting:

  • Plaza Road (Warren Road to Fair Lawn Avenue)
  • Plaza Road North (Fair Lawn Avenue to Howard Avenue)
  • Plaza Road North (southbound) (Howard Avenue to Radburn Road)

The contractor will begin paving the following street on Thursday, June 25 through Friday, June 26, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., weather permitting:

  • Plaza Road. (Warren Rd. to Fair Lawn Ave.)
  • Plaza Road North (Fair Lawn Ave. to Howard Ave.)
  • Plaza Road North (South Bound) (Howard Ave. to Radburn Rd.)

Necessary date changes will be noted on the street posting signs. Inclement weather will delay paving time and/or dates. Any unfinished street paving will commence on the next posted day.

During PAVING, vehicles “WILL NOT” be permitted to enter or leave the areas being resurfaced. Sections of the street will be posted for “No Parking” on the day prior to paving. Move your car out of the posted area to a nearby street prior to the commencement of work scheduled for 7 a.m. Consider outlying streets for parking. Area overnight parking restriction enforcement will be suspended by the Police for this project, call them at their non-emergency number 201-796-1400 and advise the location of your parked vehicle.

Streets closed with traffic cones will be reopened to traffic at the completion of daily work. Refuse and recycling services have been notified and will collect prior to paving. Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.  

VEHICLES PARKED IN THE POSTED "NO PARKING" AREA WILL BE TOWED BY THE POLICE AT OWNER’S EXPENSE.

Contact the Fair Lawn Engineering Department at 201-794-5300/5303 if you have special transportation needs (i.e. contracted service) that require vehicle access for coordination thereof. Again, there will be no access during paving.
