FAIR LAWN, NJ – Stephanie Primavera has taken her position as Principal of Milnes Elementary School, effective Aug. 1.
The Board of Education appointed her on March 28 and approved her annual salary at $141,465.
Primavera replaces Joseph Fulco who retired from the district after serving nearly 10 years in the post.
Primavera, who has been in education for more than 17 years, most recently as principal at Apshawa Elementary School in West Milford, NJ, is reporting directly to the Assistant Superintendent of Education Dr. Natalie Lacatena.
As principal, Primavera is the instructional leader for approximately 500 students and 80 staff members.
She served as principal at Apshawa Elementary School since 2013 and in 2018 was named Exemplary Educator by the New Jersey Department of Education. She began her career in education working for Butler Public Schools in Butler, N.J. At Aaron Decker Elementary school, she worked as head third-grade teach- er (2002-2010), then as head second-grade teacher (2010-2013). From 2002-2006, she was the head track and field coach at Butler High School.
She received a B.A. in psychology and a M.A. in Education, with a concentration in Language Arts, both from William Paterson University, in Wayne, N.J. She holds certifications and endorsements in Principal, Supervisor, and Teacher (K-8).
Primavera is married with two children, ages 12 and 10, and resides in West Milford, N.J. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family, cheering on her children during sporting events, going to the gym, and relaxing at the beach.
