ELMWOOD PARK, NJ - A 50-year-old local man has been charged with aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella

Hitendra Rakholia, who is married and works as an estimator, was arrested on July 6 as a result of a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Elmwood Park Police Department. Police received information that Rakholia had engaged in multiple acts of sexual penetration with the child, who is under the age of 13, over the course of three weeks.

Rakholia was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.

Prosecutor Musella states the charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
