FAIR LAWN, NJ - A 22-year-old Englewood man was arrested for a "suspicious" house fire that occurred in Fair Lawn on April 9, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor.
Jonathan A. Rossi, 22, an auto parts store employee, was arrested on May 18 and charged with Arson, Criminal Trespass and Criminal Mischief, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Fair Lawn Police Department.
On Thursday, April 9, the Fair Lawn Police reported a fire at a residence in the borough. The fire was extinguished and deemed suspicious, police said. At that time, the Fair Lawn Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Arson Unit and an investigation was initiated.
Rossi was released subject to "non-monetary conditions" following his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, police said.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the Fair Lawn Police Department and the Bergen County Arson Task Force for their assistance in this investigation.
