06/04/2020 3:13 pm Shoplifting: P.O. Luke Hintzen & P.O. William Hickey responded to ShopRite, 17-17 River Road, and arrested John Jeffries Jr, age 20 of Wrightstown, after he was detained by store loss prevention with items concealed in a shopping cart. Additional items were found inside his parked vehicle. The total cost of items unpaid was $170.34. He was released after being charged with shoplifting.

06/15/2020 3:36 pm Shoplifting: Fair Lawn Police responded to CVS Pharmacy, 29-00 Broadway, after a report of a shoplifter leaving the business on a bicycle. P.O. Robert Manning located Felix Edwards, age 53 of Paterson, on Broadway at East 55th Street in Elmwood Park and arrested him after locating the items, totaling $225.90. Edwards initially gave a fake name to P.O. Manning and had arrest warrants out of Passaic County (no bail), Paterson ($750) and Robbinsville ($500). He was charged with shoplifting and hindering apprehension, then handed over to the Passaic County Sheriff׳s Department.

06/18/2020 1:53 am Driving While Intoxicated: P.O. Geovanny Buitron initiated a motor vehicle stop on 17th Street at Zink Place and arrested the operator, Jose Silvestre, age 38 of East Orange, after he failed a roadside sobriety test. He was released to a responsible adult after being charged with improper turning, failure to maintain a single lane, reckless driving, careless driving, driving while intoxicated & refusal to submit to taking of breath samples.

06/21/2020 11:15 am Wanted Person: P.O. Luke Hintzen, P.O. Chris Sullivan, P.O. Stephen Buskiewicz & Sgt. Peter Yuskaitis responded to Benji׳s Kosher Pizza, 12-46 River Road, on a report of a party needing assistance. Upon arrival, officers found Miguel Santiago, age 49 of Clifton, had been assaulted by unknown people while in Paterson but refused medical attention. He was arrested after an arrest warrant out of Paterson for $750 was located. He was handed over to Paterson Police. 

Chief Glen Cauwels stated all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
