10/25/2019 - 12:55 am Driving While Intoxicated: P.O. Geovanny Buitron initiated a motor vehicle stop on Route 208 at Promenade Boulevard and arrested the operator, Zhen Li, age 44 of Wyckoff, after he failed a roadside sobriety test. He was released to a responsible adult after being charged with failure to maintain a single lane, careless driving, failure to possess a vehicle registration card, driving while intoxicated & refusal to submit breath samples.
10/25/2019 - 1:23 pm Narcotics: S.P.O. Jose Valentin, P.O. William Hickey & P.O. Brad Pindyck detained a 13-year-old male student at Thomas Jefferson Middle School, 35-01 Morlot Avenue, after he was found with a prescription bottle with suspected marijuana inside. He was released to a parent and will be charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance on a juvenile petition with family court.

Javier Gutierrez responded to ShopRite, 17-17 River Road, and arrested Ashley Doyle, age 35 of Prospect Park, after she was detained by store loss prevention with unpaid items totaling $77.71 hidden in her purse. She was released after being charged with shoplifting.
10/26/2019 - 6:38 pm Shoplifting: P.O. Juan Rodriguez responded to ShopRite, 17-17 River Road, after a report of a shoplifter who left the store and arrested William Gonzalez, age 43 of Paterson, after he located him on a bicycle in the parking lot with unpaid items, totaling $66.74, in a bag he was carrying. He was released after being charged with shoplifting.
10/26/2019 - 11:53 pm Narcotics: P.O. John Rovetto initiated a motor vehicle stop on Broadway at Banta Place and arrested the operator, Nelson Bueno Jr, age 18 of Elmwood Park, and a 17-year-old female from Elmwood Park, after a suspected cannabis THC vape cartridge was located inside the vehicle.
Bueno was released after being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), failure to signal a lane change & maintenance of vehicle lamps. The juvenile female will be charged on a juvenile petition with possession of CDS in family court.
Chief Glen Cauwels stated all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
