GLEN ROCK, NJ - Not even a cable lock saved Fair Lawn teens' bikes from being stolen while they were eating at a Glen Rock restaurant last week, police said.
On Aug. 17, two Fair Lawn teens were stunned to find only the cut cables that had secured their bikes to a street sign at the corner of Rock Road and Main Street.
The boys said they had locked their bicycles to the street sign post at the corner with a cable lock at approximately 8:30 p.m. After having a meal inside a local restaurant, they returned at 9 pm. to find the bikes were gone.
A canvass of the area by officers found no witnesses or open businesses with security cameras. The Detective Bureau said they would follow up with other area businesses to determine if their security cameras captured any relevant images.
Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity during this time period is asked to contact the Glen Rock Police Department at (201) 652-3800.
