During the period between August 10 to August 16, 2020 members of the GRPD handled 262 calls for service, the highlights of which included:

08-10-2020 - 9:11 AM – P.O. John Tarantino responded to the scene of a hit and run motor vehicle accident on Grove Street near Prospect Street, which left a 20-year-old Hillsdale man injured. Investigation found that the driver was stopped in traffic when his vehicle was struck from behind by another vehicle. The driver was able to get the vehicle’s information, but the woman driving refused to remain on scene and fled before P.O. Tarantino arrived. The driver of the hit and run vehicle, a 30-year-old Paterson woman, was subsequently identified and issued summonses for leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a suspended license. The 20-year-old Hillsdale man was transported to Valley Hospital in Ridgewood for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

08-12-2020 - 2:18 PM – A resident on the 700 block of Maple Avenue reported the theft of a bicycle valued at approximately $300. It was reported that the bicycle had been left in the driveway unsecured and was taken overnight. The resident is checking their Ring doorbell footage in an effort to determine if any images were captured.

08-12-2020 - 12:56 PM – A realtor reported that packages are being delivered to a vacant home she is selling on Woodvale Road. The home has not been occupied since March and deliveries are not intended for the former occupants. The matter is currently under investigation.
